COLOR!

We have finished painting the basement hallway (a light tan if you cant tell)! Almost there! I dont think we'll be getting the floor in before our goal date because the concrete needs to be leveled...boooo. Oh well, it's nice to be this much closer.

We still need to paint and put up the new doors, buy door knobs and molding and of course put in the flooring.
Also if you notice the baby gate in the bathroom, the dogs like eating cat "cookies" out of the litter box, yum! So we're also going to install a cat door in the wall to the storage room so the dogs cant get in it anymore. Its controlled by a magnet collar that sophi will wear to get through the door, the magnet is a cute little mouse!

yes we're those kind of people

The people that dress up pets! okay we're really not those kind of people, John is VERY against dressing up the pets but our trainer said we had to go to the Petsmart Halloween party so John consented and i got to dress up the dogs :)

Enna went as Tinkerbell:

and Makoa was Peter Pan, the Peter Pan that's anti-hats:

Of course the minute I put on Enna's dress I was squealing with delight, she just looked so darn cute!

I also couldn't resist and put Sophi in the Tinkerbell, oh she was not happy! I got bit a lot but it was worth it!

Have a Happy Halloween!

help keep Parley's Park off leash!

Some utahans seem to think that dogs dont need anywhere to run and want to turn Parley's Park into a biker trail. Come help save the park!

7:00 PM

Sprague (Sugar House) Library, 2131 S 1100 E

FIDOS will be hosting the candidates for Salt Lake City Council. Plan to attend to learn where the candidates stand on preserving "off leash" space. The Salt Lake City Council will make the final determination on whether Parleys Park (Tanner/the Gully) stays as the wonderful place we can enjoy with our canine family members.

This is where we learn where the future (and current) members of the Council stand and let them know how important this issue is to us. It is important that we have a good turnout.

Mark your calendars and pass the word to all of your dog-loving friends.

Thanks for all you do.

"Bark Now or Forever Hold Your Leash"

Look how good the park is, it totally wears Enna and Makoa out
and its just a joy to see them running around with a big smile on their faces being leash free!

the walk + a little adventure

The night before the breast cancer walk our carbon monixide detector went off at 2:00 AM and of course that isn't something you just shrug off and go back to bed. So we pulled the battery out, put in back in and waited. It went off again so we packed up the dogs and Sophi and off we went to John's parent's to sleep the rest of the night (which wasn't much sleep since we had to get up at 6 for the walk)

My family, John, best friend, Jonessa and her dog went on the walk and had a blast.

Our carbon Monixide detector went off again Sunday night and we were bad and just went to bed. We bought a new one and it hasn't gone off yet so I think the other one was just broken.
What an exciting story!

another site

As we get closer to our "family" photo shoot I cant help but look up other pictures of dogs. While doing so I stumbled upon this site, too bad the amazing photographer is located in Canada!
Take a look, its just awesome and some of her blog posts brought tears to my eyes.

It has snowed

at least in my basement! The first coat of mud has been sanded and we're another step closer to being done and to our goal date of Oct. 31st. I even helped sand, I figured it couldn't be too hard. Oh its not hard, just a pain. Let me just say that I'm sure glad that its not my profession!

My dusty hair, it sure felt good to wash that out!

The fresh layer of "snow"

I'm thinking we wont be doing another home improvement project for quite a while...wait what am I saying?! I'm married to one of the biggest do-it-yourselfers I've ever met and he'll get antsy to start something new. :)

Oh and good news, I paid a guy $60 to stand in my house for 2 minutes and tell me that my thermostat is broken and thats why our furnace wasn't turning on, nice!

The destroyer

So yesterday my brother in law texted me asking, "Are the dogs crate doors suppose to be open...?" and my mind raced to "Oh dang we were robbed again! How'd they get pasted the security system?"
No we weren't robbed again, little Houdini Makoa got out of his crate and had a field day. He peed on the bed, chewed a tube of chapstick, destroyed my shoes and killed a pair of pants he pulled out of a dresser drawer. It was just a lovely surprise!

On the plus side, my nails look fabulous *sing song voice* in that picture!
